More on feeling and intuition
From Creative Critical Inquiry, Fall 2008:
What does it mean to say that feeling and intuition are natural? Can they be fake?
How does society impose its artificial values and codes on us?
What makes society’s values and codes artificial? Are these artificial values and codes imposed on everyone?
The definitions of feeling and intuition answer the first two questions (see earlier post).
The assigned reading did not offer evidence of how society imposes its artificial values and codes on us, nor does it explain what those values and codes are, or how they are artificial, or if they are imposed on everyone.
I suggest that the majority of society’s members are exposed to its values and codes through interactions with family, school, friends, and media.
