Use a hash tag # followed by a word – such as “editorchat” – without the quote marks. Announce to your Twitter followers what the chat is going to be about and if the chat is going to be on a specific day and time. Some hash tag words are used to denote an ongoing topic such as vegetarianism, genealogy, and so on.

The reason I think it’s worthwhile to discover the hash tag, is because the hash tag personalizes Twitter for you.
