Newspaper taglines

In doing some research recently in order to create some filler for a newspaper supplement, I looked at marketing reports, research, surveys, and poll results to come up with editorial copy that would reach a specific audience.

What I came up with was this tagline, which seems to be well received by editors and other newspaper people:

“Your newspaper. The everyday reality show.”

In discussing this tagline with co-worker, Tony Ronzio (on Twitter @ronzio), he popped this tagline out of his head (without the benefit of caffeine, I might add).

“Reality. Delivered Daily.”

    That second tagline is great–it does define what a newspaper should be. Unfortunately, many have gone toward blowing situations out of proportion.

    Hi Chinamatt,

    “Reality. Delivered Daily.” seems to sum up what readers want to find in a newspaper.

    Nothing can be printed that isn’t true. Journalists and their editors work together to bring our readers reality – the real story.

    Do you read a local paper? What situations do you feel have been blown out of proportion?
